- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 3-5 years of working experience as a UX/UI designer, Android and/or iOS mobile apps, SMB SaaS and/or payments experience is preferred
- You have an empathetic approach to understanding user needs, enabling the creation of impactful design solutions
- Experienced developing, collaborating on, and refining brand and design guidelines to ensure consistent and cohesive visual identity across products. Proficient in translating brand values into tangible design elements that resonate with target audiences
- Experience designing on both native mobile and responsive web platforms
- Experience collaborating in multifunctional teams (with a product manager and an engineering lead)
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong product thinking alongside visual and interaction craft, including at least one example of designing with or around AI/ML outputs
- Hands-on familiarity with LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) as part of your design and/or research process
- Comfort with ambiguity and an ability to move from fuzzy problem to structured solution without needing everything defined upfront
- A university degree in a relevant Design, Technology, or Social Science discipline
- Experience conducting user tests, research, and experiments to capture and understand real users’ motivations, goals, and pain points; facilitate design sprints and other discovery sessions as needed
- Experience doing customer research in the home improvement / home services industry
- Experience digging into product analytics data, customer service contacts, and social media feedback to monitor current product usage patterns and identify future areas of enhancement
