About the role
QUALIFICATIONS
A combination of relevant education/training and experience in Government and Public Relations, Creative Communications, and Journalism. Proven knowledge, skills and expertise to prepare, design and produce materials in written, oral, visual, audio-visual and website formats.
Demonstrated proficiency with digital communications platforms and tools, including website content management (WordPress), email marketing (Mailchimp), social media, podcasting, digital media production, and video editing.
Experience creating engaging digital content, including podcasts, videos, and multimedia communications is considered an asset.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment while meeting multiple priorities and tight deadlines. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a high level of digital literacy are essential.
DUTIES
Incumbent may perform a combination of one or all of the following duties and responsibilities: Prepare or assist in the preparation of communication/public relations strategies and campaigns. Prepare or assist in the preparation of communications materials (including but not limited to: articles, presentations, documents, speeches, publications, websites, communiqués, pamphlets, email newsletters, podcasts, videos and other digital media) in both hard and electronic formats. Develop, edit and publish digital content, including video production and editing, podcast production, website updates and multimedia communications. Manage and maintain MNU’s website. Create, distribute and monitor email marketing campaigns using Mailchimp. Manage, monitor and communicate through various forms of social media and other digital communication platforms. Assists with the selection and management of external contractors involved with the provision of communication services. Provides communications event planning, execution and support, including news conferences, speeches, etc. Conducts analyses and prepares reports in support of communications strategies/ campaigns. Assists in communications education. Provide communication support to MNU leadership, staff and elected representatives as required.
