Standard Job Description Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. As part of the Product Engineering team, the candidate will be directly involved in the design and delivery of integrated hardware solutions for Naval Combat Management Systems (CMS). As a systems engineer with focus on our CMS hardware (HW) design, the candidate will contribute to hardware product maturation across the CMS lifecycle, from solution definition and equipment selection through integration, deployment, and evolution. Specific Position Responsibilities The candidate will perform the following: Requirement analysis, derivation, reconciliation, and traceability for an integrated system that includes HW and software designs Produce and/or review design artefacts for system and HW products Produce and/or review white papers and market studies for system and HW products Coordinate with procurement department and communicate with suppliers to identify suitable products to meet system requirements Establish, produce, and maintain a Bill Of Material (BOM) to support equipment definition Support design and demonstration that selected HW solutions meet required performance criteria and cyber accreditation (Including: Operating Environment, Network, Processing, Storage, Interfaces, Guards, Data and Network Security, Storage Architecture, Middleware, Processing Usage, System Configuration and Management, Technical Performance Measurements and Optimization, etc.) Survey of the technologies in the marketplace, the trends in the industry and technology selection, including trade-off studies and prototype demonstrations. Define technology criteria selection based on required performance and conduct trade-off analysis. Basic Qualifications Required Skills: Possesses a bachelor’s in engineering or related area of study with minimum two years of professional experience in field, or a related master’s degree Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical members of the engineering/management staff and personnel assigned to related work Proficiency with Microsoft Office tool suite. Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) Knowledge of requirement management for HW lifecycle, from design to procurement and obsolescence Desired Skills Desired Skills: The Following Skills And Certification Are Considered As Assets Experience leading product development via Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence Familiarity with Earned Value Management Experienced in project management and planning tools such as Microsoft Project Familiarity with Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Cameo, Jira, Windchill, Confluence Familiarity with configuration management processes

Requirements
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and at least two years of professional experience, or a related master’s degree. Candidates should have strong communication and Microsoft Office skills, familiarity with MBSE, and knowledge of hardware lifecycle requirements management; Agile, project management, requirements, and configuration tools are assets.
