About The Opportunity Our nationally recognized client located in Downtown Ottawa is looking for a Bilingual Director of Finance & Administration to join their established organization on a full-time, permanent basis. Duties include but are not limited to: Coordination and preparation of budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain planning and control procedures and analyze report variances Financial reporting and production of financial statements- prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports while ensuring accuracy Management of General Ledger and related accounting duties Preparing Month and Year End closing, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation Oversee processing of payroll, remittances, union dues, & WSIB Submission of tax remittances Liaising with auditors, take an active role in internal and external Audit, providing required reporting Provide representation and work directly with the union on all matters Work closely with the Board of Directors, providing insight on financial matters Ensuring compliance as well as implementation of process improvements, monitoring for accurate and successful execution Oversee and provide support to accounting and administration team Participate in other active projects and ad hoc reporting as needed Provide contributions and recommendations regarding financial and operational aspects of the organization, communicating with Senior Management on strategic initiatives About You The successful candidate will have the following: Fluently Bilingual in both official languages (English, French) CPA Designation- Active in Good Standing 5+ years of experience in Accounting & Finance in a Senior role 3+ years of previous leadership experience of a team of 4+ staff Previous experience with Unionized environments a strong asset Advanced level Microsoft Excel Strong oral, written, and communication skills Strong problem-solving skills Highly organized, strong attention to detail Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter, collaborative About the Job The salary band for this role is $120,000 to $130,000 depending on relevant previous experience.
