Job summary
Director of Finance WFH/Hybrid/Remote - must be Lower Mainland, BC based. Our client is a consumer goods manufacturing business in BC who is looking for a leader of their accounting and finance team. The Director of Finance provides strategic leadership for the company's finance and accounting functions, including financial reporting, planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, cost accounting, and financial operations. The ideal candidate is an experienced finance leader with a background in CPG production, manufacturing, or a similar operational environment, and expertise in cost accounting, financial analysis, cash flow management, and business planning. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic financial leadership and advice to the leadership team. Lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. Oversee accounting operations, including month- and year-end reporting, AP, AR, reconciliations, fixed assets, and internal controls. Optimize working capital through effective cash flow forecasting, accounts receivable, collections, and order-to-cash processes. Develop financial models, business cases, KPIs, dashboards, and profitability analysis to support decision-making. Partner with operations to improve costing, inventory management, margins, and overall business performance. Lead financial systems, reporting, and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Support capital investments, strategic initiatives, and long-term business planning. Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while building a scalable finance function. Qualifications: CPA designation with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. 8+ years of progressive finance leadership experience. Strong background in manufacturing, beverage, food or related CPG production finance, including cost accounting and operational finance. Expertise in financial planning, forecasting, modelling, reporting, and cash flow management. Experience improving working capital, AR, collections, internal controls, and financial processes. Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Sage preferred) and financial technology improvements. Proven ability to partner with executive leadership, influence business decisions, and lead high-performing teams.
