Job summary
MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a 12 month contract role with a client of ours located in Vancouver. Responsibilities Deliver high quality software efficiently Provide technical leadership Write high quality, testable and easily maintainable code Develop test classes and automation test scripts to support Quality Assurance activities Perform code reviews and provide feedback to other development team members as required Perform systems maintenance tasks Mentor team members in technical and other aspects of software development Assist Product Owners in turning high-level business requirements into technical tasks and contribute to estimation Work with all internal technical stakeholders (Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Support Engineers, Solutions Architects) to ensure product quality and reliability in production environments Perform Software Development activities in an Agile workflow with Scrum, backlog grooming and retrospectives Requirements Design, develop, and maintain scalable Salesforce integrations and backend microservices using Java/Kotlin/Spring Boot. Develop and manage API-driven integrations, asynchronous messaging, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integration platforms such as Boomi and Kafka. Integrate Salesforce with ERP and enterprise platforms, including Oracle EBS, Oracle Fusion Cloud, Salesforce Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Snowflake, and BigQuery. Design and implement highly scalable, resilient services capable of supporting significant increases in transaction volume while maintaining performance and reliability. Build and maintain cloud-native applications using Kubernetes and Helm, with a focus on observability, zero-downtime deployments, and high availability. Establish and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines, Trunk Based Development, Test Driven Development, and comprehensive integration, API, performance, and load testing practices. Ensure secure, reliable, and well-documented integrations through effective data modelling, ETL methodologies, API standards, monitoring, and error handling. Provide technical leadership across development teams by influencing architecture and technical direction, mentoring others, communicating complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement.
