ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: McDougall Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Analytics Engineer to join our Business Analytics & Reporting team. Reporting to the Manager, Business Analytics and Reporting, this role is responsible for building and supporting end-to-end analytics solutions, from data integration and modeling to dashboard development and reporting, helping drive consistent, data-informed decisions across the organization. This position offers meaningful exposure to ERP systems, cross functional processes, and continuous improvement initiatives, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a strong, well‑rounded career. Responsibilities Include: * Designing Medallion architecture layers, particularly Gold layer development * Building and maintaining curated analytical datasets * Creating dimensional models, fact/dimension tables and data marts * Writing and optimizing SQL views * Establishing reusable datasets that can feed Tableau and other Business Intelligence tools * Creating consistent definitions for metrics and business logic * Data quality testing and validation * Creating documentation and data lineage * Working with Business Analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into data structures * Preparing the organization for future front-end/visualization technologies * Key contributor in the establishment of a centralized reporting framework ABOUT YOU: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems or Business * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance would be considered an asset * Five (5) to ten (10) years’ proven experience working within analytics * Experience working with Tableau, advanced SQL, data modelling, DBT and cloud data platforms * Strong proficiency working with Microsoft Office; specifically in Excel * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written * Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment * Demonstrated ability to manage in a fast-paced environment with ability to manage a high volume of data; with strong attention to detail * Excellent time management and organization skills; ability to effectively prioritize and committed to deadlines * Experience working with a large ERP system is an asset * Ability to regularly work within our Sault Ste Marie, ON Head Office WHAT WE OFFER: We offer career growth and development through on-the-job training, professional courses, and peer learning in a friendly and inclusive work environment that allows you to thrive both personally and professionally.
