Shipping Coordinator Location: Edmonton, AB Shift: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM Position Type: Permanent Full-Time Reports To: Inventory Control Supervisor About the Role (Job Summary) McKesson Canada is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to support daily shipping, receiving, and transportation activities within our Distribution Centre. In this role, you will coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, manage shipping documentation, communicate with carriers and drivers, and help ensure products are delivered accurately, safely, and on schedule. This position plays a critical role in supporting warehouse operations, inventory movement, regulatory compliance, and customer service excellence. What You'll Do (Responsibilities) Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, scheduling pickups and deliveries with carriers, drivers, and freight partners. Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading and other transportation records. Monitor shipment activity, track deliveries, resolve transportation issues, and communicate updates to stakeholders. Support distribution centre operations by coordinating the movement of orders, inventory, and materials to meet shipping deadlines. Maintain accurate shipment, inventory, billing, and security records while ensuring data integrity within company systems. Ensure compliance with company policies, Health Canada requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), security procedures, and workplace safety standards. Basic Requirements Typically requires 1+ years of related experience High school diploma or equivalent. Experience preparing and maintaining shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipment records. Experience using Microsoft Office applications and performing accurate data entry. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Skills/Experience Experience in a distribution centre, warehouse, manufacturing, or regulated environment. Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or inventory management systems. Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, carrier coordination, and freight scheduling. Understanding of supply chain and logistics operations. Experience analyzing transportation or operational data to identify process improvements. Ability to troubleshoot shipment discrepancies and resolve issues with carriers and internal stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment. Familiarity with Health Canada regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is considered an asset. Proven adaptability, continuous improvement mindset, and customer-focused approach. Work Environment, Travel & Physical Requirements Based on-site at the Edmonton Distribution Centre. No regular travel required. Ability to work within a warehouse/distribution environment. May require walking throughout the facility, sitting or standing for extended periods, and occasional lifting, moving, or handling shipping-related materials in accordance with company safety guidelines.
