The Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA) represents the interests of approximately 160,000 professional and undergraduate, full-time and part-time university students at nine student associations across Ontario. OUSA is run by a Steering Committee made up of elected student representatives from each of our member university. The General Assembly of the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA) is the highest governing body of this provincial lobbying organization. Decisions made at General Assembly are binding upon OUSA, and policies passed become representative of students across Ontario. As such, being a GA delegate requires a high level of responsibility. Should you be selected, you will primarily be representing the interests of the McMaster Students Union (MSU). It will be your duty to ensure that policy passed at General Assembly is useful and relevant to McMaster Students. The Fall General Assembly will be held fully in-person at Queens University. Delegates are required to be in-person for the duration of the General Assembly. All delegates will have their travel, accommodation, and food costs covered. Fall Session When: Thursday, November 5 – Sunday, November 8, 2026 Where: Queens University, Kingston, ON Selection Process The selection process will consist of two stages. Interested applicants will be required to submit their application here, followed by a group interview process that will be facilitated by the Vice-President (Education) and the Associate Vice-President: Provincial & Federal Affairs. Applicant Criteria In order to attend OUSA General Assembly, applicants must: Be an MSU member (full-time undergraduate taking 18 units or more or students who transfer through MAPS-MSU Transferability Agreement). Be available for training on the week of October 4th (training day TBA, training will be in-person but accommodations can be discussed) Be FULLY available in-person in Kingston on Thursday, November 5 – Sunday, November 8, 2026 How do I apply? Much of the work at OUSA General Assembly focuses on policy development. Please choose one of the following policies that are coming forward for consideration and provide an explanation of what you think is the biggest priority for students within this topic and how it can be improved. 2SLGBTQIA+ Students Student Entrepreneurship, Employment, & Employability **OPTIONAL QUESTION** One of the policies delegates will review focuses on issues affecting 2SLGBTQIA+ students and marginalized communities. If you have lived experience, personal perspectives, or experience navigating barriers related to identity that you feel comfortable sharing, how might those experiences inform the perspective you would bring to this policy work? Provide short answers (250 words or less) to each of the questions listed below. Returning delegates: Reflecting on your previous role as an OUSA General Assembly delegate, what did you gain from your experience and how do you think you could improve moving forward? Include an example of a specific instance that was memorable and why it led you to reapply. Describe why policy is important for advocacy. Feel free to use specific examples from OUSA’s policy papers and advocacy initiatives. Much of the work at OUSA General Assembly focuses on policy development. Requirements

Applicants must be current McMaster Students Union members enrolled in at least 18 units. Candidates must be available for mandatory in-person training and the full duration of the General Assembly in Kingston.
