At Mulgrave Independent School, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior School Associate Teacher (Kindergarten) to join our dynamic Junior School team. All of our students follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) beginning in PK3, and personalised, student-centred learning is at the heart of everything we do. Through our co-teaching model, every K–2 classroom is staffed with both a Lead Teacher and an Associate Teacher, allowing for meaningful differentiation and personalised instruction. What You’ll Do You will work closely with Lead Teachers and Learner Support Coordinators to enhance student learning and well-being through: Supporting the planning and implementation of engaging daily learning experiences Actively differentiating and personalising instruction Providing academic, social, and emotional support for students Contributing to assessment and evaluation of student progress Helping students become self-regulated, confident learners Creating and maintaining an organised, welcoming classroom environment Supporting PYP implementation and ongoing development Participating in collaborative planning, staff meetings, and professional learning Assisting with Before and After-School Care (ASC) supervision Supporting Specialist teachers, school events, assemblies, and student-led conferences Getting involved in the co-curricular programme for at least two terms Occasionally TOC-ing in other classrooms, including PK Developing and reviewing a Teacher Professional Growth Plan (TPGP) with your coach Who You Are Candidates must: Be legally entitled to work in Canada Meet all BC teaching certification requirements Hold a valid, age-appropriate First Aid Certificate Successful candidates will: Have a strong desire to work with children Be eager to grow their career in education Actively engage with current educational research and best practice Use technology to enhance learning Demonstrate flexibility, collaboration, and initiative Be open to feedback and committed to continuous growth Model the values of Mulgrave’s mission, vision, and culture Work Hours 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, with occasional extensions on: Club days (to 4:30 pm) After-School Care days (to 5:00 pm) Availability for new student assessments on one or two Saturdays per year is required Our Commitment to Inclusion We are committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace. Compensation & Benefits The salary for this role is $61,800 plus a retention bonus of $7,500 payable in three instalments throughout the academic year.
