CUPE (Office, Clerical & Technical) The Near North School Board is Hiring! 1.0 Permanent Central School Secretary (12 month position- year round) Effective Immediately The successful candidate will support the IT department in ensuring data integrity in the student information system, provide support to school offices regarding the student information system and provide support in the summer as the Secretary responsible for student registrations. Location: North Bay Head Office. There is potential for this position to be located at another NNDSB site in the region. The hiring team welcomes applicants from all NNDSB regions. This is an in-person/on-site position. Qualifications Minimum Grade 12 education 1-3 years secretarial experience in a school environment Skills Required High level of competence in secretarial and general office procedures Sound knowledge of MS Office and Student Information System (SIS) Programs Sound knowledge of Student Attendance and Report Card Programs (Edsby) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Competent with the use of PowerSchool student system and NPSSTS BusWeb planner Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Duties And Responsibilities Provide support to school offices around attendance, validating and correcting data between Edsby and PowerSchool: Contacts, Transportation, Verification Reports etc. Report Card Configuration Additional support is provided for software and platform issues and requests; including Help Desk Ticket support for Edsby and PowerSchool Importing of student achievement data Provide Casual and Permanent Administrative Employees Support with SIS training and interactive processing Support for SIS: transcript requests, school inquires and general school office procedures Importing data into student information system (OSSLT results, locker information, etc.) Assignment of required employees to schools in SIS Maintain course catalog in SIS, create new courses, assign availability and provide timetable support Development of form templates for secretaries Submit OnSIS data requirements and assist school Secretaries with preparing OnSIS data Provide support for Safe School arrival calls when schools have a Casual Secretary During the summer months, registration of new elementary, intermediate and secondary students in the SIS, completion of transportation requests and provision of support to school offices and parents/guardians Rate: $29.16 to $31.98 per hour All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada The Near North District School Board Is Committed To Supporting An Inclusive And Accessible Environment.
