Reporting to the Head Chef, the Deputy Head Chef will support the daily management of kitchen operations, supervise and train culinary employees, and ensure the consistent preparation of authentic, high-quality Indian dishes. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, spices, ingredients, regional dishes, and large-volume food production. Duties And Responsibilities Menu Preparation & Execution: Prepare and oversee the production of authentic Indian dishes according to recipes, ensuring quality, consistency, and proper portion control. Team Leadership & Training: Supervise kitchen staff, manage prep lists, and provide training to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to standards. Food Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, ensure proper food handling, temperature control, and compliance with food safety regulations. Menu Planning & Development: Collaborate with management to plan, modify, and execute menus based on client and airline requirements, including special menus for presentations. Equipment & Maintenance Oversight: Ensure all kitchen equipment is functional, clean, and in good working order; report any maintenance needs or unsafe conditions. Quality Control & Record Keeping: Monitor food quality through tasting and temperature checks and maintain food production records to track inventory and meet service standards. Effective Communication: Coordinate with kitchen and service staff, ensuring smooth communication and timely service delivery while adhering to company standards and safety protocols. Qualifications Mandatory proven experience as a Deputy Head Chef, Sous Chef, Senior Chef, or in a similar culinary position. Experience preparing authentic Indian cuisine is mandatory. Good knowledge of HACCP is an asset (training will be provided) Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment Consistent attendance, punctuality, attention to detail, and reliability Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with team members and management.
