Job summary
What it’s like to be a Northbridge Accountant The Accountant will be responsible for administering internal accounting systems and prepaid accounts, preparing journal entries and account reconciliation, all aspects of invoice and cheque request processing and payment analyzing, preparing financial statement components and/or accounts, preparing financial reports and maintaining good filing records of endorsed cheques. They will support and maintain accounting records and ensure all accounting entries are entered accurately and in a timely manner. Assist in preparation of key reconciliations and compile, analyze, and reconcile financial accounts and records, and identify and resolve discrepancies or problems. Assist with the development of appropriate action plans for the resolution of discrepancies and potential problems. Coordinate with other units/departments to ensure financial data and systems are updated in a timely manner and prepare month-end journal entries as assigned. We want your talent If you are great at: Review and verify invoices/payment requisitions for proper coding and authorization and resolve any invoice discrepancies and issues. Ensure all information entered in the finance accounting system is accurate and complete. Prepare and perform cheque runs, EFTs, wires, and bank account transfers. Prepare journal entries for expense reclassifications and other general ledger entries as required. Ability to handle high volumes of work while meeting multiple priorities and demands. If you have: Post-secondary education in a financial discipline or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience within a similar role. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and spreadsheet software (i.e., Excel and Word) Knowledge in coding of GST, HST and Provincial Sales Taxes an asset. Familiarity with online banking (i.e., RBC Express) is preferred but not a requirement. We really mean it when we say we put you first. The base salary range for this role is $51,000 - $77,000, which reflects the expected base pay – not the total compensation package. The actual base salary may vary depending on your experience, skills, and alignment with the position.
