Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position: S2627-50 Educational Assistant - Ecole Plamondon School We are seeking a part-time (0.5 FTE) Educational Assistant to commencing as soon as possible. The assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs. This position requires a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment. Ecole Plamondon School is located in the Village of Plamondon with approximately 300 students in ECS to Grade 12 and offers instruction primarily in English. Preference Will Be Given To Applicants Who Have Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies Experience working one-on-one and/or in group settings Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans Training And Skills That Would Be An Asset Include Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and/or rehabilitation SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training Literacy and Numeracy Interventions Behavioural supports and interventions Trauma informed approach How To Apply Interested applicants are required to create and complete all sections of their portfolio through the 'Apply On-Line' link on our website, in the employment section.
