Position Summary This Building Operator will be primarily scheduled for evenings (with shifts ending as late as midnight) and weekends. Exact days and hours will vary based on the facility’s rental schedule; however, part-time hours should be expected. This position is ideal for someone who is reliable, self-motivated, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming facility. This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00 - $19.00 CAD. Benefits for Part-Time roles: Pension Matching. This position will remain open until December 11, 2026. About The Venue Youngs Sportsplex, located in Welland, ON, is a multidisciplinary sports facility comprising tennis courts and soccer fields, as well as meeting spaces. Youngs Sportsplex Features Four indoor tennis courts One indoor full-size soccer field (divisible into three small-sided fields) Three outdoor full-size artificial turf soccer fields Two outdoor natural grass soccer fields Responsibilities Daily cleaning and disinfecting of washrooms and change room facilities. General cleaning of indoor and outdoor areas, including garbage and recycling removal. Maintenance and grooming of soccer fields and tennis courts. Sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, glass cleaning, and other janitorial duties. Landscaping and grass cutting, including operation of a riding lawn mower. Set-up and take-down of equipment for rentals, leagues, and special events. Providing customer service and responding to general inquiries. Liaising with clients, coaches, and referees; escalating concerns when necessary. Monitoring facility use to ensure safety and address issues as they arise. Supporting special events as required. Other janitorial and operational duties as assigned. Qualifications General maintenance or handyman experience is considered an asset. Strong work ethic with a commitment to cleanliness and customer experience. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physically capable of lifting and performing manual labour. First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset. Strengthened by our Differences.
