The Opportunity - Athletics Coordinator & Head Women's Volleyball Coach (permanent, full-time) The overall purpose of this job is twofold: (1) To lead the Women’s Volleyball program, ensuring competitive excellence, high academic standards, and the holistic development of student-athletes into committed and disciplined individuals. (2) To develop and manage robust youth athletic programs, specifically leading the phased implementation and operation of the Jr. Broncos Female Volleyball Club and overseeing the multi-sport Broncos Camps. The role is responsible for the financial health, staffing, and strategic growth of these programs, ensuring they contribute positively to the Broncos Athletics program and align with College values. Key Job Functions Head Coaching & Competitive Excellence Design and implement a Yearly Training Plan (YTP), including practice planning, competition schedules, and team building. Manage team operations, including budget, fundraising, and community engagement. Maintain an active, focused recruiting plan, including prospect and ID camps. Utilize tactical and technical strategies during practice and competition; analyze performance and provide constructive feedback. Supervise student-athletes at ACAC, CCAA, and exhibition competitions, ensuring adherence to the Athlete Code of Conduct. Youth Development Program Leadership Develop and implement business strategies for a phased approach to the Jr. Broncos Female Volleyball Club system. Coordinate all logistics (marketing, budgets, registration, schedules, uniforms, staffing, volunteers) for Jr. Broncos Club. Liaison with key external stakeholders, including Chinooks Edge School Division (CESD) and the Community Learning Campus (CLC) for club and facility needs. Work with key stakeholders to create a not-for-profit board for the Jr. Broncos Volleyball Club Staff Supervision & Administrative Oversight Hire and manage support staff for the WVB program (Asst. Coaches) and hire Club Volleyball coaches. Contribute to maintaining healthy budgets across all programs, ensuring they are a net contributor to the Broncos program. Promote and implement wellness initiatives and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders Institutional & Safety Compliance Actively promote and reinforce practices that prioritize the well-being and security of all individuals at Olds College and enhance safety protocols and procedures. Ensure the appropriate academic standards of the student-athletes are monitored and met. Support and act in accordance with the Broncos Athletics strategic plan and initiatives (fundraising, sponsorship, promotions, alumni relations) Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required Post-secondary degree in Kinesiology or a related field. Minimum of 3 years’ of coaching experience at the College, University, Provincial, National or Professional level, with a minimum of “in training” or full certification at NCCP Level 2. Provincial or National team player participation may be considered in lieu of coaching experience. Experience with the coordination of budgets, registration and staffing of camps and willing to think outside the box! Requirements
Requires a post-secondary degree in kinesiology or a related field and at least three years of coaching experience at the college, university, provincial, national, or professional level, with NCCP Level 2 certification at least in training; provincial or national team playing experience may substitute for coaching experience. Candidates should have experience coordinating camp budgets, registration, and staffing, strong communication and partnership skills, a commitment to inclusion and safety, and proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office tools.
