Job Description Our Hosts create a positive guest experience! They maintain an efficient and organized restaurant through managing guest flow, maximizing seating capacity and communicating with all employees. They share with Guests their passion for food, beverage and hospitality. Hosts leave a lasting impression with all guests through their professionalism and attention to detail. The day to day: Warmly greet guests and effectively manage the flow of the restaurant to maximize seating capacity and ensure a seamless guest experience. Demonstrate strong decision-making skills and empower team members to act confidently and collaboratively. Maintain open communication with Servers, Bartenders, and Managers to coordinate guest flow and table availability. Escort guests to their tables, engage in friendly conversation, and seat them appropriately based on party size and preferences. Accurately handle reservations in person and over the phone; update guest status and seating arrangements using OpenTable. Prepare a detailed briefing sheet before each shift to inform the team of concerts, shows, special events, and notable bookings (NBs). Maintain a working knowledge of the surrounding area, including local attractions and directions, to assist guests as needed. Keep the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times. Memorize all table numbers and stay aware of server assignments to ensure efficient and appropriate seating. Complete and distribute special request forms for birthdays, anniversaries, and NBs, ensuring all team members are informed. Perform regular restroom checks and maintain cleanliness and supplies throughout the shift. Support the team with other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications Previous experience as a host or in a guest-facing hospitality role is an asset Strong communication and organizational skills Calm under pressure, with a proactive and team-oriented mindset Comfortable using reservation and table management systems (OpenTable) - preferred A passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences Valid Smart Serve Certification Required Available to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Event Night Availability (Able to work all Oilers Home Games & Concerts in Rogers Place) Legally eligible to work in Canada Additional Information This is a current vacancy.
