YOUR IMPACT The lead engineer’s main role is to assist in preparing high and low level architecture design, to provide required documentations, to recommend process improvements (such as providing/improving the coding guidelines) and at the same time to code, test and analyze software programs and applications. He is expected to serve as one of the team’s subject matter expert. The lead engineer can also perform project management tasks. WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS Assist in providing solution, integration, and physical design of the project Interact with the cross-functional teams Provide project estimates Lead and mentor developers in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications. Prepare, review and/or approve project software requirements, specifications and other artifacts (Software Design Document, Entity Relationship Diagram, etc.) Assist in the preparation of Technical Architecture Documents Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standard in support of procurement and development efforts Recommend and implement software upgrades, tools and techniques Code software programs and applications according to specifications Implement process improvements (e.g. Code Review, Deployment) Analyze data from software analysis tools for the purpose of correcting errors, isolating areas for project improvement Generate statistics and prepare reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process Troubleshoot cross-component/technology issues in areas of expertise Provide production support as needed May engage in project level planning/project management WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED 8-11 years of relevant experience with highly developed professional/technical skills. Expert in implementing (coding & unit testing) detailed design into application functionalities using Java/JEE as the primary development language. Expert in JEE Web Services Technologies: e.g., JAXB, Java APIs for XML Messaging Advanced experience in enterprise design (Object Oriented Design, SOA, Domain Driven, etc. Distributed and multi-threaded systems on a relational database. Micro-services and distributed service-oriented architectures Design and implementation of REST APIs. Developing a modern front-end framework Using a test-driven approach to writing code Frameworks: Spring 5+, Hibernate 5+ and Sencha Languages: Java 11+, JavaScript, SQL, PL/SQL Messaging Middleware: IBM MQ, Active MQ Databases: Relational database experience, Oracle/MySQL/ PostgreSQL Development tools: IntelliJ/Eclipse, Maven, Git Experience with performance testing, code debugging, monitoring, and JVM tuning. Experience with the following technologies - Hazelcast, Kafka, Docker, BIRT Reporting Design Patterns JEE (Java Platform, Enterprise Edition) JDK 11+ JEE Web Application Technologies: e.g., Ajax, REST JEE Enterprise Application Technologies: e.g., JMS, Java Persistence, JDBC, Dependency Injection for Java Database Database structures DDL/DML: e.g., SQL, PL/SQL Database Platform: e.g., Oracle (expertise with Stored Procedures and User-defined functions), OS Platform (e.g. Windows, Unix, Linux) Application Servers (e.g. Oracle Weblogic, Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat) Other Development Technologies (e.g. Ajax, HTML, JQuery, XML, XSL, XSLT, CSS, Javascript, Freemarker, Junit, JSON, Jasper Reports, Shell scripting) Development Tools (e.g. Eclipse, Maven, Ant, SVN and GIT) Effective in communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills Prior exposure to banking and capital markets infrastructure—specifically financial messaging (FIX/SWIFT), treasury management, or payment processing systems—is a strong plus. Ability to be a hands-on leader on multiple projects and to assist in troubleshooting Behavior Characteristics: Strong attention to detail and process, collaborative and adaptable, independent, self-motivated, with high level of accountability, analytical Makes decisions within a project/function, guided by professional/technical expertise and known practices and established precedents Bachelor’s/College Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or equivalent in relevant discipline.
