Job details

Senior CPA Professionals– Contract 65-70.00 per hour – 12 months – Hybrid - Toronto If you're 5–15+ post designation and public practice you already know how to read a file, spot what doesn't add up, and write it up so it holds. What if that skill set stopped serving a client engagement and started protecting the public interest? Are you in-between roles or recently restructured? Our client is looking for an experienced CPA to join its team of likeminded professionals. You'll lead investigations into allegations of professional misconduct, applying your technical and investigative expertise to complex regulatory matters. You won't be advising on someone else's risk. You'll be the technical expert who determines whether the standards were met. Why practice CPAs make the move Your assurance expertise becomes the deciding voice. You'll serve as the technical accounting and assurance subject matter expert across complex investigations. You own the investigation, start to finish. Build risk-based investigation plans, gather and weigh evidence, and assess potential breaches of professional standards. Your work goes to the top. You'll present findings to senior leadership and the committee responsible for professional conduct decisions. It's a credential most practitioners never get. Regulatory investigation experience sets you apart, whether your next step is forensic, risk, compliance, or back into practice at a more senior level. The work is the client. Your focus is integrity and accountability, not recovery rates or engagement budgets. What you bring CPA designation in good standing, plus a post-secondary degree 5–10 years of relevant experience, with a strong public accounting or industry experience as a controller. Sharp analytical judgment and proven report-writing skills Confidence presenting to committees and senior stakeholders Comfort managing a diverse, complex caseload under competing deadlines Bonus points: CFE, CFF, CBV, MFAcc, or DIFA, or hands-on forensic accounting engagement experience. What's in it for you $65-70.00 per hour depending on experience Hybrid model: 3 days on-site Learning and development, stretch projects, and real exposure to the regulatory side of the profession A 12-month contract is a low-risk way to test a different kind of CPA career! Perfect for someone who is between roles. Interested candidates can send their resume to ljackson@optionscs.com or reach out to Laura directly at 416-420-6160
