The successful candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and is keen to play a key role in transforming Osler’s ‘experience ecosystem’ and help maintain the processes, systems and tools to identify, create, manage and disseminate the full range of Osler’s transactional expertise in support of winning new business, establishing our expertise in the market, and cross-selling. This job posting is for an existing vacancy. Major Responsibilities * Working effectively with a range of legal and business professionals to actively capture representative matters across Osler’s transactional practices (M&A, Capital Markets, Private Equity, Insolvency & Restructuring, Financial Services, Real Estate and Investment Funds, Infrastructure). This involves: * Identifying transactional matters for tracking and promotion; * Drafting matter descriptions for different applications and use in business development and marketing contexts, and documenting permitted uses of the descriptions; * Analysing matters for significance to Osler’s practices, in the market and the impact for our clients; and * Timely dissemination of relevant representative matters as appropriate and permitted for use in new business pitches and proposals, Osler’s external digital marketing efforts, awards submissions and directory submissions, and internal publications. * Supporting business development activities across Osler’s practice groups, including preparing market recognition submissions and contributing to new business pitches, proposals and partner briefing materials that position Osler’s expertise for specific opportunities. * Supporting events, conference strategy, sponsorships and other market-facing initiatives that raise the profile of Osler’s practices and strengthen client relationships, and providing general support for partner trips, client dinners and other business development activities. * * Supporting and helping improve the data governance framework applicable to Osler’s ‘experience ecosystem’ including managing the availability, usability, integrity and security of our experience data. * Driving the successful adoption of firm-wide behaviours, processes and tools that underpin a successful experience management program, including engaging with legal and business personnel across the firm to communicate the importance and benefits of rigorous experience capture. * Participating as a stakeholder in the design and implementation of an enterprise technology solution intended to support Experience Management as well as the firm website where the best examples of our expertise are showcased and promoted. Position Requirements Education and Experience This position calls for a minimum of 2 to 5 years’ experience. We are looking for candidates with a background in one or more of the following areas: business law, law firm business development and marketing, investment banking, investor relations, financial services or other deal-making environments. None of these areas is strictly required, and we welcome relevant experience from adjacent fields. This position requires a post-secondary education in a related discipline. Impeccable business/B2B communication skills (both written and oral), focused on writing for a variety of business development contexts and interpersonal skills is required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable. Knowledge and Skills * Strong team player with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional matrix organization. * Intellectually curious, solution-oriented, ‘roll up your sleeves’ mindset. * Highly organized with superb attention to detail and strong client service orientation. * Ability to manage large data sets. * An understanding of legal practice in the transactional context. * Sound judgment in handling confidential, sensitive and market-facing client/matter information. * Experience with developing and implementing processes and protocols, including technology implementation and leading change. * Strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to provide creative and collaborative solutions to support client and business development initiatives. * Strong project management capabilities, including the ability to prioritize objectives, multi-task effectively, meet deadlines and be accountable for exemplary work product. * Strong proficiency with all MS 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience with the latest AI tools and CRM integration points to marketing communications platforms an asset. * General knowledge of professional services firm operations with an understanding of different practices. Ability to keep current with market and competitive trends, challenges and goals, as well as relevant technology and marketing media, including AI tools. * Ability to work independently, and manage and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines. * Familiarity with experience management software such as Foundations an asset. Compensation: The range of expected compensation for this position is $70,000-$80,000 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors including job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience. We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 1 day per week.
