Shop Foreman/woman Diversified Transportation is seeking a Shop Foreman/woman to oversee maintenance operations at our Fort McMurray location. This is a leadership opportunity suited for an experienced professional who can balance people leadership, operational oversight, and performance accountability across multiple service areas. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of fleet operations in a stable, high-volume environment with consistent workflow. The position follows a 7-on/7-off rotation, Tuesday through Monday, with 12-hour shifts, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Wage: $68.63 per hour, plus applicable premiums: $2.00 per hour night premium, $2.00 per hour CVIP license premium, $2.00 per hour Class 3 Driver’s license (or higher) premium What You'll Be Responsible For: * Lead daily shop planning meetings to review current and scheduled maintenance, breakdowns and emergency repairs, parts availability, vendor repairs, and units prioritized for return to service * Maintain and monitor the rolling PM schedule for all units, ensuring preventive maintenance and inspections are completed on time * Coordinate with operations to confirm unit avialability and schedule PM work while minimizing disruption in service * Ensure CVIP and other regulatory inspections are completed on time * Review open work orders daily and ensure technicians accurately document work performed, labour hours, parts used, defect identified, and additional repairs required * Review completed work orders for accuracy, ensuring parts and labour are correctly allocated, and work orders are closed promptly * Monitor and resolve outstanding work orders including delays related to parts, vendor work, documentation approvals, or follow-up repairs * Review parts requirement for repairs, ensuring required parts are identified, ordered and available * Monitor outstanding orders and ETAs, and coordinate to prioritize critical parts and address shortages * Monitor technician workloads and assign work based on experience, qualifications, and operational priorities to maximize productivity * Monitor labour hours and repair progress, investigate jobs that exceed expected completion times, and address productivity concerns * Provide hands-on technical support including assistance with complex and priority repairs * Monitor fleet availability and unit status * Coordinate breakdown repairs with mobile mechanics and operations, ensuring prompt response and determining whether repairs should be completed in-house or by an outside vendor * Communicate repair status and expected completion times to the Maintenance Manager * Inspect completed major and safety-critical repairs, ensuring required testing and documentation are completed before units return to service * Conduct quality spot checks to ensure units are returned to service in clean, safe, and serviceable condition * Identify repeat failures or recurring repair issues * Monitor vendor progress and completion timelines, and ensure all outside work is properly documented * Review vendor invoices against approved and completed work for accuracy * Maintain an organized shop schedule and workflow, ensuring units are appropriately positioned and repair bays remain clear and efficient * Maintain designated areas for units awaiting parts or inspection, completed units, major repairs, and scrap/removed components * Provide Maintenance Manager with a daily shop status update covering completed and outstanding work * Communicate jobs behind schedule, major repair concerns, parts shortages, and other issues affecting fleet availability or maintenance operations What We Are Looking For: * Valid HET On-Road Technician certification * Proven leadership experience in a maintenance, fleet, or operational environment * Strong ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive results * Experience within transportation, logistics, or heavy equipment environments * Valid Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) certification is considered an asset * Valid Class 3 driver’s license is considered an asset * Ability to lead technical teams with credibility and sound operational judgment Why Join Us? * Competitive compensation * Comprehensive benefits package * Company matched retirement savings program (following one year of employment) * Rewarding and positive work environment * Modern facilities with state-of-the-art equipment * Ongoing training and development #ZRLP
