Job summary

Job Summary Reporting to the Manager, Base and International Maintenance, the Base Engineer, YHU will work in support of Porter’s fleet in a line maintenance environment. Duties & Responsibilities Troubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, approved manuals and established procedures Repair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems Install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems Dismantle airframes, aircraft engines or other aircraft systems for repair and cleaning, and reassemble Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance Order and manage local inventory of parts, tooling, and supplies Maintain GSE Act as liaison between key company departments and external vendors Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy Ensure company offices and vehicles are kept organized and in working order Carry out any task assigned by Maintenance Operations Control Assist on the ramp as required Behavioural Competencies Concern for Safety: Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for self and others. Teamwork: Working collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals. Passenger/Customer Service: Providing service excellence to internal and/or external customers (passengers). Initiative: Dealing with situations and issues proactively and persistently, seizing opportunities that arise. Results Focus: Focusing efforts on achieving high quality results consistent with the organization’s standards. Fostering Communication: Listening and communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus. Qualifications Possession of a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (M2 rating) required; Proven technical aptitude with at least 2 years’ experience and/or endorsed on DASH 8– Q400 and/or Embraer Regional Jets and/or equivalent type of aircraft preferred. Experience working on a wide range of airframe systems such as electrical, navigation, flight controls and turbine engines. Ability to frequently climb, kneel and crawl into tight spaces. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to obtain necessary Transport Canada security clearances and driver’s airside license within 6 months from date of hire. Full unrestricted driver’s license with a clean abstract required. Successfully complete the company background and pre-employment screening tests. Flexibility to work shifts and overtime.
