Position: Speciality Cook Reports to: Food Service Manager Job Status: Part-time and Casual Openings, Onsite Pay: $19.63 Location: 1645 Pickering Pkwy, Pickering, ON L1V 6L3 Your Day to Day: As a Cook at Amenida Senior Community, your responsibilities will include: * Preparing and serving home-cooked meals using fresh, real ingredients for a large group of residents. * Planning and prepping meals for the current and following day. * Assisting the Food Service Manager with kitchen operations as needed. * Ensuring proper food presentation and portion control. * Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all food preparation areas in accordance with health regulations. * Supporting kitchen tasks including lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for long periods. * Cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas according to established standards. * Adhering to safety and food handling protocols at all times. * Focusing on preparing authentic Korean cuisine to meet the cultural and dietary preferences of residents. What You Bring to the Table: * Proven experience cooking in a busy kitchen environment, preferably in a senior care or institutional setting. * Ability to prepare large-batch meals with attention to taste, presentation, and dietary requirements. * Valid Food Handling Certificate. * Strong understanding of and experience in Korean cuisine (preferred). * Ability to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks related to food service. * Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed. * Must successfully complete a criminal background check prior to hire, including a Vulnerable Sector Screening, in accordance with applicable provincial and federal regulations.
