Job summary
Contract to Perm We are looking for a temporary placement 1-6 months depending on when we find a fulltime/long-term placement. If the temp is right for the long-term, we are open to that as well. The candidate will be Finance, Legal and IT focused on the day to day tasks Hands on and will have 2 direct reports (payroll analyst and an AP/AR person) Priority attributes: Hands on, needs to be able to manage cashflow (seasonality to the business), be able to work with different departments, and flexible with new tasks that come up on a daily basis Pay, $110k-$150k Perm : Act as Head of Finance and partner with local senior executive team. Develop short and long-term budgets and forecasts. Contribute to test systems and software to improve financial and operational information. Communicate and interact with Group CFO of Media 6 HQ and other members of HQ executive team (Group CFO is N+1). Engage with lawyers, bankers, landlords, consultants, insurance brokers and auditors. Recruit accounting and payroll staff as required and authorized. Manage and oversee insurance policies and contracts. Implement policies and procedures as needed/deemed appropriate by senior leadership team. Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting Prepare and present monthly financial reports and cash flows. Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide commentary and recommendations. Develop and maintain monthly and annual operating budget. Prepare periodic HO reports, maintain statistics and historical data and tools for budgeting. Participate in regular meetings/conference calls with senior executive team. Contribute to evaluate profitability/margins at the customer/product level. Accounting, General Ledger, Administration and Operations Supervise the accounting staff to ensure the proper functioning and accuracy of all systems. Ensure application of appropriate internal controls and compliance with GAAP. Oversee the preparation and filing of all government sales and income tax returns, statistical reports and other governmental requirements. Work with Management to ensure compliance with appropriate labour standards. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements including the month-end close process and related working trial balance with supporting schedules. Co-manage year-end +quarter-end inventory counting procedures and costing (Operations are responsible for BOM & routings exhaustivity & accuracy, inventory flows, production orders, stocktakes) Review all general ledger transactions and prepare correcting and some month-end manual entries where appropriate (to be signed-off by CFO afterwards). Enhance existing systems and processes to provide better tools for executive team. Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors. Manage preparation and support of all audit schedules and other requirements. Finance Management Manage cash flows and ensure funds availability by reminding / lobbying Sales team to collect cash in due time Maintain banking relationships Administration Contribute to draft and review documents (personnel, janitorial …) Cash Management Oversee accounts payable approvals, payments, signing cheques, authorizing wires and EFT’s. Supervise accounts receivable collections, credit limit approvals Record Maintenance Customer Master Agreements and related confidentiality contracts Leases – buildings, vehicles Fixed assets ledger, supporting invoices, amortization schedules Insurance and group health policies Government filings and related working papers – tax returns, T4’s, WSIB, EHT, Statistics Employment contracts Historical data – financial, sales, labour Position - Minimum Requirements Degree in accounting or finance – CPA, CA preferred Working knowledge of accounting systems – preferably QuickBooks 5 years minimum financial experience in a manufacturing environment. Cost accounting and inventory control experience. Working knowledge and understanding of GAAP or IFRS. Hands-on work ethic with solid communication and presentation skills. Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills Experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues. Position – Other Favourable Competencies and Skills Bilingual in English and French Previous experience in implementing and operating an ERP system, data extraction to BI Background in coordinating with IT staff to manage and/or upgrade systems. Experience with Canada/USA cross-border and tax issues

Requirements
