Job summary

Title:Lead Cloud Operations Engineer Location: Hybrid - 106 Colonnade Rd Suite 215 (3 days/week) Nepean Ontario K2E 7L6 Clearance Required: Criminal Record Check Required Senior technical leadership role responsible for leading cloud engineers while remaining hands-on in Azure and Kubernetes environments. You will build secure, scalable infrastructure, drive automation, mentor engineers and improve platform reliability, performance and cost efficiency. Responsibilities Lead Azure and AKS technical strategy, architecture and best practices. Build infrastructure as code using Terraform and Azure DevOps. Manage Kubernetes deployments using ArgoCD, Helm and GitOps. Configure Azure networking, Application Gateway, WAF, ingress and load balancing. Manage secrets and certificates through Azure Key Vault. Maintain ACR pipelines, image scanning and registry operations. Automate operational tasks using Python and Bash. Troubleshoot AKS clusters, Linux systems, networking, storage and identity. Lead incident response, root-cause analysis and stakeholder reporting. Maintain monitoring, security, backup, disaster recovery and high availability. Mentor junior engineers and communicate with customers and internal teams. Drive cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices. Required Qualifications 8–12 years of cloud or infrastructure engineering experience. 5+ years of hands-on Azure experience. 5+ years managing production Kubernetes/AKS environments. Advanced Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience. Strong Azure DevOps and CI/CD knowledge. Hands-on experience with ArgoCD, GitOps and Helm. Experience with Application Gateway, WAF, Key Vault and ACR. Strong Linux, networking and troubleshooting skills. Python, Bash or Shell scripting experience. Demonstrated technical leadership and mentoring experience. Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience. Assets Azure or Kubernetes certifications. Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor or Application Insights. Microsoft Defender, Wiz or other cloud-security tools. Azure API Management, Backup and Site Recovery. FinOps, regulatory compliance or financial-services experience.
