Description Position Summary The Equipment Operator/Picker is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials throughout the warehouse or distribution facility. This role operates powered industrial equipment, including stand-up order pickers, cherry pickers, and reach trucks, to receive, transport, store, and pick inventory. The Equipment Operator utilizes RF scanning technology to process customer orders, maintain inventory accuracy, and support shipping and receiving activities while ensuring a safe, organized, and productive work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate powered industrial equipment, including stand-up order pickers, cherry pickers, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment. Unload incoming shipments and transport materials to designated storage locations. Move inventory, freight, and materials between storage areas, production departments, loading docks, and shipping locations. Pick customer orders accurately and efficiently using RF scanning equipment. Label, tag, and identify inventory, transfers, returns, and materials according to established procedures. Review work orders, shipping documents, and verbal instructions to determine material handling requirements and priorities. Maintain accurate records of materials received, moved, stored, and shipped using inventory management systems and production documentation. Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness. Prepare products and materials for shipment, including packaging, labeling, palletizing, and arranging transportation as required. Sort and stage freight for efficient loading and unloading operations. Repackage damaged materials or containers as needed to ensure product integrity. Perform inventory control functions, including cycle counts, inventory audits, and bin replenishment activities. Maintain organized storage locations and ensure inventory is protected from damage or loss. Follow all safety policies, operating procedures, and housekeeping standards. Assist with periodic physical inventories and warehouse maintenance activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Education High School Diploma or GED required. Experience Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating powered industrial equipment, including stand-up order pickers, cherry pickers, reach trucks, or similar equipment. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or related environment. Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS) for order picking, inventory control, and material tracking preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to safely load, unload, stack, move, and store materials using manual methods and powered industrial equipment. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control processes, and material handling procedures. Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools as required. Strong attention to detail with effective problem-solving and analytical skills. Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform accurate inventory counts and transactions. Familiarity with inventory tracking software, RF scanners, and warehouse technology systems. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications, preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workplace. Working Conditions Regular exposure to warehouse and distribution center environments. Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and operating powered industrial equipment. May be required to work overtime, weekends, or additional shifts based on business needs.
