Bilingual Financial Analyst (fluent in French and English) Contract Length: 12 Months Work Type: Hybrid: In-Office (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday) / Remote (Wednesday & Friday) Location: Gatineau, QC Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable. Job Overview Gazifère's Finance Team is seeking to fill a succession position. As a key member of the Finance Team, you will play an integral role in executing the company's accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and regulatory activities. This position requires a strategic and analytical finance professional who can contribute to decision-making, support regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across financial operations. Key Responsibilities Collaborate in month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, analyzing results, explaining variances, and producing financial reports, primarily related to capital management, long-term debt, dividends, payroll, and pension activities. Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly and annual financial statements, including insightful commentary on financial performance and key business drivers. Review month-end entries and identify, investigate, and explain significant variances in financial results, including assumptions related to volumes, distribution rates, customer growth, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and income taxes. Provide accurate financial data, reports, and ad hoc analyses to support business planning, operational decision-making, and strategic initiatives. Participate in interim and year-end audit activities by preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, responses, and supporting documentation. Research, document, and recommend accounting policy positions in compliance with U.S. GAAP requirements. Contribute to the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting activities, and long-term financial planning initiatives. Review and improve financial processes, controls, and reporting practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness. Maintain, update, and develop financial models and analytical tools to support evolving business requirements. Develop a broad understanding of all Finance Team functions and provide support across multiple areas as required. Demonstrate leadership in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing finance environment. Qualifications Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent). Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive and relevant accounting and financial analysis experience. Bilingualism in both French and English is required. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and effectively. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also managing responsibilities independently and meeting tight deadlines. Demonstrated leadership qualities, initiative, and a strong team-oriented mindset. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to quickly understand, interpret, and apply complex accounting and financial concepts. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with demonstrated experience in financial modeling and analysis. Experience with Oracle and Hyperion is considered an asset. Knowledge of federal and Québec tax compliance requirements and taxation matters. Familiarity with project profitability analysis, capital investment evaluation, and financial decision-making methodologies is considered an asset. Looking for meaningful work?
