Intermediate Accountant (Contract) Our client, a collaborative and dynamic organization in Southeast Calgary, is seeking a motivated and personable Intermediate Accountant to join their finance team on a temporary basis with potential temp-to-permanent opportunity. Reporting directly to the Interim Controller, this role supports day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close processes, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and various accounting projects. This position offers a hybrid work model (onsite Monday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on Fridays) and onsite parking included. Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To Prepare and post accurate journal entries and perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and subledgers Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, financial statement preparation, and management reporting Analyze financial information, maintain general ledger accounts, and investigate variances or discrepancies Support cash flow monitoring, prepare audit working papers, and assist with AP/AR activities as required Support project cost tracking, financial analysis, and collaborate cross-functionally with operational teams Your strengths include: Accounting Experience: 1 to 5 years of hands-on general accounting experience, with a solid understanding of core accounting principles and month-end workflows Education & Credentials: Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Technical Aptitude: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with exposure to ERP/accounting software (NetSuite experience is a bonus, but open to all major ERP systems) Industry & Project Exposure: Experience in project accounting, job costing, or project-based environments (construction, engineering, or consulting) is considered a strong asset Culture Fit & Communication: Down-to-earth, adaptable, and collaborative with strong interpersonal skills, a great sense of humor, and a positive approach to team engagement If you meet the general accounting requirements, bring a positive attitude, and are available for an immediate hybrid opportunity in SE Calgary, please click the “Apply” button to submit your resume directly to Lexie Robertson.
