Payroll Specialist (1-Year Contract - Remote) Our client, an established organization with operations across Canada, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Specialist to join their team for a 1-year contract opportunity. Reporting within the payroll department, this role is key in supporting full-cycle payroll execution, system auditing, and employee inquiries. This position offers a 100% remote work arrangement . You will join a collaborative, customer-focused team that emphasizes knowledge sharing and operational excellence within a standard 37.5-hour workweek. Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To Support full-cycle payroll administration, executing gross-to-net calculations, new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, and manual adjustments Utilize Workday Payroll and Workday Time Tracking modules to review timecard entries, resolve discrepancies, monitor daily HR audit reports, and support ESS/MSS functionality Calculate payroll worksheets and ensure accurate payroll journal creation through final processing Respond promptly to employee inquiries via the payroll inbox while ensuring full compliance with Canadian privacy legislation and union/regulatory standards Maintain audit-ready documentation and collaborate closely with cross-functional HR and Benefits teams Your strengths include: Mandatory Certification: Active Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation through the National Payroll Institute Workday Expertise: Minimum 6 months of direct, hands-on experience using both Workday Payroll and Workday Time Tracking modules Payroll Experience: 3 to 10 years of total payroll administration experience covering full-cycle execution and payroll accounting principles Technical & Analytical Skills: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, high attention to detail, and a strong aptitude for digital payroll tools Communication & Work Style: Service-oriented mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting aligned with Mountain Time hours If you meet the mandatory PCP certification and Workday requirements and are available for a 1-year remote contract, please click the “Apply” button to submit your resume directly to Lexie Robertson.
