The business operates five distinct units, each serving unique customer bases with varied demand patterns. Known for its close-knit leadership team and strong commitment to employees and customers, the company is seeking a hands-on operations leader to drive performance in a fast-changing delivery environment while contributing to executive-level strategic decisions. To support the next phase of their continued growth story, they are seeking a Senior Operations Executive - Construction Supply & Transportation to oversee a complex, multi-unit delivery operation. This role combines daily hands-on management with strategic oversight, requiring someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and can balance operational excellence with board-level communication. Key Responsibilities: Transportation Contract Management: Oversee a large outsourced transportation equipment contract, including SLA performance, weekly KPI reviews, and participation in driver hiring decisions Dispatch & Telematics Coordination: Work closely with dispatch to leverage truck tracking data, coordinating arrivals, site readiness, and subsequent loads in real time Dynamic Operations Leadership: Respond to daily changes in traffic conditions, delivery windows, and order quantities—often with less than 24 hours' notice—while maintaining full compliance with driving and hours-of-service regulations Inventory & Pricing Strategy: Lead inventory management, seasonal pricing decisions, and oversee a large customer service team Customer Issue Resolution: Address operational challenges directly with customers while staying closely connected to remote operations directors; some travel to operational locations required Executive Reporting: Participate in weekly management discussions and present plans, results, and performance against budget or strategic plan to the Board of Advisors Experience: 20+ years of trucking and transportation experience, ideally including yard operations in construction trades, electrical or plumbing supply, or a related industry Proven track record managing fluid, high-volume delivery operations and working directly with customers to resolve operational issues Executive-team experience with a demonstrated ability to contribute to key business decisions and present to senior stakeholders and board members Skills & Credentials: Advanced Excel, data management, and project management capabilities. Hands-on experience with telematics systems, invoicing, budgeting, strategic planning, and capital budgeting Degree in business, logistics, or a related field preferred.
