Its asset-backed network supports customers across Canada and the United States through a range of over-the-road transportation, warehousing, distribution, and 3PL solutions. As the organization continues to expand, it is seeking an experienced, energetic, and commercially driven Vice President, Business Development - National Accounts, Transportation to develop new business, expand strategic customer relationships, and drive profitable revenue growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior sales leader who combines strong business-development capability with an entrepreneurial mindset, executive presence, and a proven record of building meaningful customer partnerships. The Opportunity The Vice President, National Accounts will be responsible for identifying and securing new national and enterprise customers while maintaining and expanding existing relationships. The successful candidate will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and needs assessment through solution design, proposal development, negotiation, closing, and account growth. Working closely with senior leadership and internal operating teams, this individual will position the organization as a trusted partner for customers seeking dependable, scalable, and integrated transportation and logistics solutions across Canada and the United States. Key Responsibilities Identify and develop new direct B2B opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, industry relationships, and other business-development channels Build, manage, and advance a consistent sales pipeline from initial prospecting through qualification, proposal, negotiation, closing, and implementation Target and secure mid-sized to large customers with requirements for over-the-road transportation, warehousing, distribution, and integrated 3PL services Lead client discovery meetings, assess operational and commercial requirements, and develop compelling customer-specific proposals Present tailored logistics solutions that may include LTL, FTL, domestic, cross-border, intermodal, flatbed, warehousing, and related value-added services Create pricing strategies, quotations, bids, and long-term customer agreements in collaboration with internal stakeholders Lead negotiations and close new business while ensuring that commercial commitments are aligned with operational capabilities and profitability objectives Consistently pursue and achieve sales, revenue, volume, and account-growth objectives Maintain accurate pipeline activity, forecasting, opportunity tracking, and customer information within the CRM and related reporting systems Collaborate with cross-functional internal stakeholders to support smooth implementation and consistent service delivery Support RFP processes, manage quoting and bid submissions, and contribute to the development of SOPs for new and existing customers Build strong executive and operational relationships with customers, identify opportunities to increase share of wallet, and support long-term retention Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, transportation trends, and evolving customer needs to identify new opportunities and sources of differentiation Act as a senior commercial representative at customer meetings, industry events, networking functions, and other business-development activities Ensure compliance with company policies, processes, reporting requirements, and applicable customer commitments What You Bring 15 or more years of progressive sales and business-development experience in logistics, over-the-road transportation, LTL, FTL or Third Party Logistics organization A demonstrated record of acquiring new business, managing complex sales cycles, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets Experience selling domestic and/or cross-border transportation solutions across Canada and the United States is strongly preferred A well-developed network of customer and industry relationships; an existing book of business that can be transitioned in accordance with company requirements would be an asset Proven ability to manage the full sales cycle, including cold outreach, lead generation, discovery, solution development, proposal preparation, negotiation, and closing Strong understanding of transportation and logistics solutions, customer requirements, pricing, service design, and commercial agreements Exceptional presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills Demonstrated ability to build credibility with senior decision-makers and translate customer needs into practical, profitable solutions High level of self-motivation, accountability, initiative, organization, and attention to detail Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional operating teams Strong computer literacy, including CRM platforms, online bids, sales reporting tools, Microsoft Office, and related business systems Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered Willingness and ability to travel as required to support customer relationships and business-development activity Why Consider This Opportunity? Candidates should have strong transportation solution and commercial knowledge, full-cycle sales and relationship-management capabilities, and CRM proficiency; post-secondary education in a related field is preferred, and travel may be required.
