Position Department: Athletics Administration Position School: Administration Overview: Robert Morris University, Department of Athletics seeks a dynamic Graduate Assistant for Administrative Services to support the daily operational and administrative functions of a Division I athletics program. Working closely with executive leadership and department staff, the Graduate Assistant will gain comprehensive exposure to intercollegiate athletics administration by assisting with office management, meeting preparation, internal communications, and event coordination. This position is ideal for an aspiring athletics administrator seeking hands-on experience in program operations, administrative support, and project management within a fast-paced Division I environment. Responsibilities: Main responsibilities include numeric and textual project tracking, department coordination, and administrative assistance across senior staff. The Graduate Assistant will serve as a primary administrative contact for the central athletics office, managing daily front-desk operations, answering phone inquiries, and routing communications to appropriate staff. In this role, the GA will assist executive leadership with scheduling, calendar management, and the preparation of meeting materials, agendas, and presentation decks. Additionally, the GA will support departmental special events, handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, maintain central digital filing systems, and assist with processing travel requests, expense reports, and general office purchasing. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must be fully admitted into a graduate degree program at the university, with preference given to programs in Sports Management, Business Administration, Higher Education, or Public Administration. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and proficiency with office software are required. The ideal candidate maintains a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail when handling sensitive athletic department information. Preferred qualifications include prior office administrative experience, involvement in collegiate athletics, and the ability to multitask effectively under tight deadlines.
