Job Title: Junior Accountant Location: Etobicoke, ON Base Salary: $60–$85K CAD (dependent on experience) The Client: Our client is a growing and dynamic organization seeking a motivated and career-driven Junior Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is actively pursuing their CPA designation and looking to gain broad exposure across multiple operating entities. The successful candidate will work closely with senior finance leadership in a hands-on environment, developing strong technical accounting skills while supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. What you will achieve in this role: • Support the full-cycle accounting function across multiple entities • Prepare and post journal entries • Process accounts payable transactions and maintain vendor records • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger • Support financial reporting and working paper preparation • Assist with audit, tax, and compliance requirements • Help identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and support ad hoc finance projects as required • Work closely with finance leadership on reporting priorities and business initiatives • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment • Take ownership of a variety of accounting responsibilities while continuing to develop professionally What you must bring to this role: • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • Currently pursuing a CPA designation or actively enrolled in the CPA program • 2–5 years of accounting experience, including exposure to full-cycle accounting activities • Strong understanding of accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end processes • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software • Experience supporting financial reporting and maintaining general ledger accuracy • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams • Demonstrated willingness to learn, take ownership, and support multiple areas of the business Preferred Qualifications: • Experience within mining, manufacturing, industrial, construction, natural resources, or similar operational environments • Previous experience supporting multiple entities or business units • Experience working in a small-to-mid-sized organization with broad accounting responsibilities • Full-cycle accounting experience in an industry setting Who You Are: • You are actively working toward your CPA designation and eager to continue developing your accounting career • You enjoy being hands-on and learning all aspects of the accounting function • You are adaptable, resourceful, and willing to take on responsibilities at all levels • You thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment where everyone contributes to organizational success • You are seeking a long-term opportunity with exposure to both operational accounting and financial reporting Only those who are qualified will be contacted.
