St Ann, AncasterCasualAncaster, ON Apply Now Job title: LAY MINISTER - Pastoral Ministry & Parish Engagement Coordinator Location: St. Ann Parish, Ancaster | 11 Wilson Street West, Ancaster Employment Type: Casual Hours: an average of 10–15 hours per week over the course of the year may be expected, with the understanding that actual hours will fluctuate considerably from week to week depending on parish programming and needs. The parish is seeking a Pastoral Ministry & Parish Engagement Coordinator to assist the Pastor in supporting the pastoral, sacramental, and community life of the parish. The successful candidate will work with parishioners, volunteers, young people, young adults, families, and our Catholic schools to encourage greater participation and engagement in parish life. Responsibilities Plan and coordinate youth and young adult events, activities, and faith-based initiatives. Serve as a pastoral presence and parish liaison within our Catholic schools. Develop and strengthen connections between the parish, schools, students, and families. Coordinate parish ministries and volunteers, including recruitment, scheduling, and communication. Plan and assist with parish social events, celebrations, and community-building activities. Coordinate the parish OCIA (RCIA) program and prepare candidates for the Sacraments of Initiation. Assist with other sacramental preparation and faith-formation programs as required. Assist the Pastor with the pastoral and liturgical life of the parish. Help identify and develop new opportunities for parishioner involvement and engagement. Attend parish staff meetings and work collaboratively with parish staff and ministry leaders. Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor. Qualifications Practicing Catholic with a good understanding of Catholic faith and parish life. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with youth, young adults, families, volunteers, and seniors. Comfortable organizing events and coordinating groups of volunteers. Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Pastor and parish staff. Previous experience in parish ministry, Catholic education, pastoral ministry, or a related field is an asset. Some evening and weekend availability will be required.
