About the Company Our client, a well-established and highly regarded law firm seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Clerk to join their team. Responsibilities Process accounts payable, including reviewing invoices and expense reports, processing payments, and maintaining vendor records Monitor and follow up on accounts receivable and outstanding balances Assist with client billing and invoicing, including processing disbursements, write-offs, write-downs, and transfers Prepare and revise client accounts and coordinate the billing process with lawyers and legal assistants Maintain accurate financial and client records Manage billing and client rates within the accounting system Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing procedures Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy Assist with financial reporting and other accounting-related reports Support general and trust audits and ensure compliance with applicable requirements Provide general accounting support and assist with special projects as required Requirements Bookkeeping or accounting certification is preferred 3+ years of accounting, accounts receivable, or related experience Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment is an asset Working knowledge of QuickBooks is required Strong understanding of accounting principles Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Experience with legal practice management software, including Clio, is an asset Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team Compensation Salary up to $70,000, commensurate with experience Hybrid remote work arrangement Opportunity to join a collaborative and professional team We do not use AI to screen candidates.
