Job Duties Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA) Job Duties Through lectures, seminars, and/or labs, provide didactic and clinical instruction and assessment of performance in the Dental Assisting program. Supervise and evaluate students in clinical settings. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of current dental assisting principles, procedures and techniques and the principles of adult education. Develop and maintain course curriculum. Conduct various aspects of program administration as required. Provide dental assisting services as required. Provide instructional support to Dental Hygiene Program when required. Qualifications, Skills, Abilities And Experience Specific Accountabilities Duties Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA) Graduate of a Dental Assisting Program. Eligible for registration and licensure as a dental assistant in Saskatchewan. Related baccalaureate degree (or be working toward completion of a related degree). Training in educational theory and methodology. Minimum of two years recent and relevant dental assisting experience in a dental office utilizing current dental assisting principles, procedures and techniques. Effective communication skills. Effective instructional ability. Effective interpersonal skills. Demonstrated valuing diversity. Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology. Requirements
Must be a graduate of a Dental Assisting Program, eligible for licensure in Saskatchewan, and possess at least two years of recent relevant experience. A related baccalaureate degree or training in educational theory is required or preferred.
