About the role
Our client, a coalition of community organizations working together to support the socio-economic development of the Kamouraska region, is currently looking for a passionate Community Development Officer to help members reach their goals. You will play a key role in mobilizing local stakeholders and coordinating projects within the community. You’ll be responsible for organizing events, supporting local initiatives, and strengthening member engagement. This position involves working closely with nonprofits and social economy organizations, mainly in youth housing, food assistance, and other community-based services.
Tasks
- Member engagement: Ensure active participation of members in community development projects.
- Project & event coordination: Plan, coordinate, and deliver community events and initiatives.
- Support to member organizations: Provide guidance and follow-up for ongoing and upcoming projects within Kamouraska’s community organizations.
- Association activities follow-up: Maintain strong communication between the CDC and its members, manage meetings, annual general assemblies, and related activities.
- Knowledge of the community sector: Demonstrate understanding of the community landscape, its challenges, and local realities (ideally related to the Kamouraska RCM or surrounding areas).
- Perform any other related tasks as required by the position.

Job requirements
- Experience in project management or the community sector, ideally within nonprofits or social economy organizations.
- Event coordination, member engagement, interpersonal communication, autonomy, and strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of the Kamouraska region or similar rural areas is an asset.
- Ability to work in a hybrid model, with travel across the CDC territory (mainly St-Jean-Port-Joli, La Pocatière, St-Bruno-de-Kamouraska, and Rivière-du-Loup).
