This role combines traditional produce responsibilities with daily production, including cutting, portioning, bagging, and packaging fresh fruits and vegetables. What you’ll do • Deliver an exceptional customer experience in the produce department • Greet customers warmly and assist with product selection and recommendations • Stock, rotate, and replenish fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the day • Maintain clean, full, and visually appealing displays • Monitor product freshness, quality, and shrink • Wash, trim, cut, peel, and prepare fresh fruits and vegetables • Portion, weigh, bag, package, and label produce for sale • Complete daily production while maintaining quality and presentation standards • Support merchandising and seasonal displays • Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing backroom inventory • Maintain clean and sanitary production and prep areas • Follow all food safety and store standards What we’re looking for • A passion for fresh food and quality ingredients • Strong customer service and communication skills • Comfortable with hands-on food preparation and production • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment • High attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization • Previous grocery, produce, or food preparation experience is an asset • Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays • Ability to lift and carry products and stand for extended periods Perks of working here • Weekly pay • Employee discount on gourmet groceries and prepared meals • Employer-paid benefits for full-time employees • Flexible schedule • A dynamic, inclusive workplace that celebrates its people • Complimentary work swag (we’ll keep you looking sharp) • Easily accessible store locations Join our team If you’re looking for a workplace where food meets community and where your role really makes a difference, Summerhill Market is the place.
