Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Line Cook role based at the Swiss Chalet location in Collingwood, ON. The Line Cook prepares and cooks menu items to Swiss Chalet standards, including rotisserie chicken, ribs, sides, and sauces, while following established recipes, portion guidelines, and food safety procedures. Responsibilities include setting up and stocking stations, preparing ingredients, operating kitchen equipment, and ensuring timely, consistent quality for all guest orders. The role involves maintaining a clean and organized work area, supporting dishwashing and prep tasks as needed, and adhering to health, safety, and sanitation regulations. The Line Cook collaborates closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams, communicates clearly during busy service periods, and supports a positive, guest-focused atmosphere. Qualifications Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with skills in basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and safe operation of kitchen equipment. Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards, with the ability to follow established procedures consistently. Ability to work efficiently on a line, manage multiple tickets, and maintain high quality and presentation standards under pressure. Team-oriented attitude, effective communication skills, and a commitment to supporting colleagues and contributing to a respectful, inclusive workplace. Reliability, punctuality, and strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy in portioning and plating. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in restaurant operations. Previous line cook or restaurant experience is preferred; food handler certification or culinary training is an asset. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and working near heat sources, with reasonable accommodations as needed.
