Job Title: Business Consultant - Intermediate (50% PCO and 50% Business Effectiveness) Line of Business: Technology Operations Contract: 4 months +extension Compensation: T4: $40-$43/HR | IC: $50-$52/HR Hybrid: 1 day in office Job Description: We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented professional to support project financial governance, operational givernance, coordination, lead process development and documentation, financial management, and reporting across multiple workstreams. This role is critical to ensuring effective financial oversight, resource management and effective operations in a fast-paced, program-driven environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clear, accurate, and timely reporting and analysis to support senior leadership decision-making across budgeting, planning, project financials, compliance, tracking, and resourcing. This individual will also play a key role in resource allocation governance, provide first-line support for CIBC’s proprietary resource and project financial management tool (Eclipse), and support onboarding and training for new users, and develop processes. Key Responsibilities: • Maintain project financial forecasts, monitor progress, and escalate risks, issues, and action items as required. • Manage and reconcile project financials, including accruals, GL reconciliation, chargebacks, invoice tracing, forecasting, and actuals-to-plan variance analysis, with clear commentary and insights. • Prepare and deliver financial and status reporting for leadership teams and executive steering committees. • Lead and support governance activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes, tools, and reporting. • Respond effectively to shifting priorities and manage multiple deliverables in a dynamic environment. • Support the resource allocation governance process, onboard users to Eclipse, and provide troubleshooting and first-line user support. • Create, reengineer, and enhance operational processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. • Support the Director in preparing executive presentations and conducting ad hoc analysis across headcount, GL transactions, financial data and operational metrics/data. Must Have Requirements: • 5-10 years of experience in Project Coordination & Business Effectiveness, with a strong emphasis on Financial Planning & analysis. • Demonstrated experience managing program and project financials, including GL reconciliation, forecasting, variance analysis, and executive financial reporting. • Strong analytical capability, including the ability to extract, manipulate, interpret, and report on data from multiple systems financial and non-financial • Proficiency with a data-driven mindset, with the ability to understand data structures and relationships, identify insights, and translate findings into clear analysis and compelling business stories. • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with exceptional attention to detail. • Experience in process documentation, process design, and process improvement. • Demonstrated leadership capability with a strong sense of ownership and a self-starter approach. Nice to Have: • Experience working within CIBC. • Familiarity with CIBC GL reconciliation processes and the Eclipse tool. • Advanced proficiency in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. • Experience with Jira, Power BI, and Alteryx, Confluence Soft Skills: • Ability to synthesize complex information into concise, impactful summaries for senior and executive audiences. • Strong storytelling and presentation skills. • Proven ability to create executive-ready materials that support informed decision-making.

Requirements

Requires 5–10 years of experience in project coordination and business effectiveness, with strong financial planning and analysis experience, including forecasting, general ledger reconciliation, variance analysis, and executive reporting. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, process improvement, and prioritization skills; experience with CIBC and tools such as Eclipse, Jira, Power BI, and Alteryx is an advantage.
