Civil Superintendent - East Kootenay Region Location: Cranbrook, BC Job Type: Full-Time We are seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to lead field operations for civil construction projects throughout the East Kootenay region. The successful candidate will be a strong, technically skilled leader who can independently manage field execution, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and support the development of field leadership teams. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day field operations safely, efficiently, and professionally. Coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and production sequencing. Manage project schedules, productivity, quality, and overall site execution. Supervise and mentor Foremen and developing field leaders. Coordinate closely with Project Managers and senior leadership. Build strong relationships with clients, inspectors, consultants, and subcontractors. Oversee underground utilities, municipal infrastructure, grading, earthworks, roadworks, and site servicing. Identify and resolve field issues proactively while maintaining a solutions-focused approach. Ensure projects follow established operational, safety, and quality standards. Utilize technology, reporting systems, scheduling tools, and digital communication platforms. Support a collaborative, accountable, and team-oriented work environment. Qualifications & Requirements 10+ years of civil construction experience. 5+ years of experience in a Superintendent or senior field leadership role. Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, sequencing, grading, earthworks, and underground utilities. Experience leading crews and coordinating subcontractors and equipment. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience with municipal and infrastructure projects is preferred. Experience mentoring and developing Foremen or junior field leaders. Strong understanding of safety practices and site procedures. Safety certifications are considered an asset. Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence. Comfortable using technology, digital reporting systems, and construction planning tools. Strong professionalism, accountability, adaptability, and leadership skills. Regional Experience Experience in the East Kootenay region is considered an asset, including familiarity with: Municipalities, inspectors, and consultants. Local subcontractors and suppliers.
