Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal or Legal Administrative Assistant to support a busy litigation practice. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of BC court procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage files and competing priorities throughout the litigation process. Responsibilities Draft correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents. Schedule examinations, applications, court dates, mediations, and trials. Manage bring-forward systems, deadlines, and lawyers' calendars. Prepare bills and invoices. Maintain and organize client files through all stages of litigation. Review and organize medical briefs and litigation materials. Communicate with clients and coordinate file progress with colleagues. Assist with trial preparation and remain hands-on throughout the process. Research and prepare materials for litigation meetings. Maintain current litigation precedents. Mentor and train junior staff. Handle administrative duties, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and incoming inquiries. Qualifications 5+ years of progressive litigation experience. Completion of a Paralegal or Legal Administrative Assistant program, or equivalent education and experience. Thorough knowledge of BC court rules and procedures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to anticipate competing priorities and work independently. Strong understanding of litigation and trial preparation processes.
