Job details

Company Overview The Butcher Shoppe stands as one of Canada’s largest independent meat purveyors, proudly supplying exceptional products to some of Ontario’s most recognized restaurants, chefs, hotels, hospitality groups, and foodservice businesses. For more than 40 years, we’ve built our reputation on quality, craftsmanship, service, and strong relationships. Our team combines the expertise of traditional butchery with a modern, fast-moving approach to foodservice, sourcing premium products and offering extensive custom cutting and portioning capabilities. What sets The Butcher Shoppe apart is our ability to work closely with our customers. Whether helping a chef source a unique product, developing a new menu item, creating a custom specification, or finding the right solution as markets change, we aim to be more than a supplier—we want to be a trusted partner to the businesses we serve. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for ambitious people who are excited about food, hospitality, relationship-building, and developing business. Position Overview The Business Development Associate will play an important role in growing The Butcher Shoppe's foodservice business through a combination of account management and new business development. You’ll work directly with restaurant operators, chefs, purchasing teams, and other foodservice professionals to understand their businesses and identify opportunities to help them succeed. This could mean introducing a chef to a new product, participating in food tastings and menu development, navigating market-driven price changes, developing custom product specifications, or identifying opportunities to expand an existing partnership. This is a hands-on sales role for someone who enjoys building relationships, learning about food, solving problems, and growing a book of business. Key responsibilities * Service, grow, and develop The Butcher Shoppe brand through robust customer relationships * Provide pricing and product availability to customers to ensure volume growth and profitability * Position products and customization suited to customer needs and requests * Actively prospect new business opportunities * Ensure excellent follow-ups and customer service towards all customer orders and queries Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in business, arts, sciences, or a related field * Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to build and manage relationships * Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to develop business and take ownership of results * Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable balancing account management with new business development * Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple customers, opportunities, and priorities simultaneously * Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment and adapt as customer and market conditions change
