We’re looking for a Director of Business Development in the remote food services, facilities management, and workforce solutions industry. This is a high-impact business development opportunity focused on driving new business across the mining sector (and other remote industrial sites) in Eastern Canada. Our client is a well-established organization providing integrated food services, facilities management, hospitality, and workforce support solutions in some of the most challenging and remote operating environments across North America. The organization works across industries including mining, energy, construction, forestry, defence, and other remote industrial environments. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities within the mining sector, developing strategic client relationships, and managing the sales process from initial prospecting through to contract award. This is a highly autonomous, hunter-focused role for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing new opportunities, and turning complex pursuits into long-term partnerships. Candidate must be bi-lingual (English/French). Director of Business Development responsibilities: Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the Eastern Canadian mining sector through proactive prospecting, market research, and stakeholder mapping Develop and execute territory and client strategies designed to generate new opportunities and expand the organization’s presence within the market Own the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting and relationship development through proposals, negotiations, and contract award Build relationships with key decision-makers at all levels, including site leadership, procurement teams, senior executives, and other stakeholders Lead complex proposals and sales pursuits, coordinating with internal operational, financial, and leadership teams to develop compelling solutions Maintain a strong sales pipeline, provide accurate forecasting, and ensure CRM information and sales activity are consistently up to date Manage multiple opportunities, client meetings, travel requirements, and proposal deadlines while maintaining momentum across a large territory The successful candidate has: 8+ years of progressive sales experience, including at least 5 years in a hunter-focused business development role A willingness to travel extensively (including to remote areas of Canada). At least 75% travel is expected. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred Proven success generating and closing new business in Mining, Energy, Industrial Services, Facilities Management, Hospitality, Workforce Solutions, or another complex B2B environment A demonstrated track record of exceeding sales and business development targets Experience managing complex, long-cycle sales involving multiple stakeholders and significant commercial negotiations An entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership, resilience, initiative, and commercial judgment Excellent relationship-building, presentation, negotiation, proposal-writing, organizational, and communication skills Fluency in both English and French, written and verbal Strong proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30–60% throughout Eastern Canada, including remote mining sites and project locations Compensation and benefits: The discussed salary range is $120,000 – $135,000 depending on experience, plus uncapped commissions. Fluency in written and spoken English and French, strong sales and communication skills, CRM and Microsoft Office proficiency, and willingness to travel extensively are required; a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
