Intermediate Environmental Consultant – Contaminated Sites – GTA Contact – Dave Banns (dbanns@theheadhunters.ca) A leading environmental consulting firm is seeking an Intermediate Environmental Consultant to join its team in the Greater Toronto Area and work with a high-profile client base. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional to take their career to the next level. Overview As Intermediate Environmental Consultant, you will be involved with the planning, management and execution of contaminated site projects. You will work on project teams that include junior staff and senior review, with technical specialists. Projects will vary and can include any of the following: Phase 1 and Phase 2 environmental site assessments, contaminated site investigation and remediation, hydrogeology investigations, monitoring programs, regulatory reporting for Record of Site Conditions and/ or Risk Assessments. Some field work will be required, generally connected with large, complex, difficult or remote sites, or for training of junior staff. In addition to managing projects and providing technical direction, you will be expected mentor junior and entry level project staff. Besides being comfortable interacting with clients, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in business development and marketing activities if interested. Key Responsibilities: Conduct all levels of contaminated site investigations including Phase 1 and Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments, Remediation, Risk Assessments, including field work appropriate to level of experience; Conduct hydrogeological investigations, monitoring programs and perform studies for the evaluation of environmental risk assessment for regulatory requirements; Compile and interpret site hydrogeological conditions from geological maps, reports, survey plans, air photos as well as collected physical and chemical data; Project manage, responsible for managing all phases of projects, from development of work plans and cost estimates to managing field work and budgets and final report production; Advise and liaise with clients on a broad range of technical issues related to contaminated site investigation; Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior staff; Conduct technical review of junior staff work projects; Contribute to the development of internal protocols and procedures. What the successful candidate will bring: Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, Soil Science, Toxicology, or related discipline. Professional designation (P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag.) and Qualified Person (ESA or RA). 6+ years of environmental consulting experience in Ontario. If you have more, we’d still love to hear from you Strong knowledge of Ontario and Canadian environmental regulations, including O.Reg. 153/04 and O.Reg. 406/19. Expertise in contaminated site investigation methods (soil/groundwater characterization, borehole drilling, monitoring well installation, sampling). Strong technical writing, communication, and leadership skills. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Ontario. Requirements

Requires a degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with a professional designation (P.Eng, P.Geo, or P.Ag) and Qualified Person status. Candidates must have 6+ years of environmental consulting experience in Ontario and strong knowledge of O.Reg. 153/04 and O.Reg. 406/19.
