The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the Lake Louise Ski Resort and surrounding terrain. Strong communication, organization and multi-tasking skills are required to excel in this role. Administrative responsibilities include but are not limited to the reporting and documentation of accidents and injury times, accident investigations, WCB related injuries, resort area closures, documentation of ski lift operations and the distribution of daily department / companywide snow and open run reports. Job Responsibilities: * Monitors two radio channels at all times, answering accident calls, relaying information and ensuring radio protocol is observed. * Answers a main 7 line telephone, receiving accident reports, taking messages and transferring calls and information to the appropriate people. * Dispatching emergency services: activating EMS, Park Wardens, Village Medical Clinic and Rescue Teams for lift evacuations, avalanches, etc. * Receive accident reports and coordinating patrollers, equipment and transportation to the accident scene. * Recording all radio transmissions regarding accidents and times, accident investigations, area openings and closings, uncontrolled lift stoppages, fires, lift evacuations, and avalanche rescues. * Recording patrol run checks, grooming board updates, sled usage, toboggan cache counts per area on the mountain. * Communicate between Ski Area Staff and other agencies, such as the Parks Service, EMS and Doctors. Liaise between 911 Dispatch and our Patrol * Organizing cat escorts and/or transportation to skiers and boarders that require assistance. * Facilitate inter-departmental communications via phone and radio. * Distribution of Avalanche Reports and A/C openings to the lodges and collecting mail and snow reports from Customer Service daily. * Filing all accident reports on a daily basis. * Inputting all accident statistics, accident investigations, other statistical data, times, and skier counts (from network web page) into the computer into excel spreadsheets on a weekly basis. * Update and revise the following manuals with cooperation of the managers of the related departments: Dispatch Manual, Terrain Park Manual, Ski Patrol Manual, and Emergency Procedures Manual. * Ensure that all technical aspects of the Dispatch office are met and maintained, including but not limited to: radios, phone (and phone lines), tablets, photocopier/printer. * Create Ski Patrol Statistical Reports via Excel and EdgeAuditor. * Update and maintain the Dispatch software EdgeAuditor and multiple tablets in coordination with the IT and Operations Department. * Liaise with outside agencies in regards to all matters that affect Dispatch and Ski Patrol (Parks Canada, RCMP, EMS, 911 Dispatch) after obtaining approval from Mountain Operations Managers and Marketing when necessary. * Liaise with other departments on the mountain on behalf of Mountain Operations and Ski Patrol. * Assisting patrollers with accident reports and other accident documentation done on EdgeAuditor. * Other duties as assigned by Mountain Operations Managers and Ski Patrol Supervisors. Job Requirements: * Strong problem solving skills and exceptional organization skills * Self-motivated, works well in a team as well as independently * Basic knowledge of avalanche dynamics * Extensive knowledge of the Lake Louise Ski Area Qualifications: * First Aid and CPR knowledge an asset * Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and database management * A positive attitude, pleasant personality, good ethical and communication skills, combined with the ability and willingness to enforce policies and procedures in a professional manner. Work Schedule: 4 day on/3 days off Uniform Requirements: Safe, casual, weather appropriate clothing choices. Closed shoes must be worn at all times.
