Assistant Professor Tenure Track Positions in Accounting at the University of British Columbia The Faculty of Management at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan Campus) invites applications for two (2) full-time tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level. The anticipated start date for the position is July 1, 2027, or a mutually agreed upon date. We are inviting applications from candidates with expertise in capital markets or behavioural accounting research. This position is subject to budgetary approval. Qualifications The successful candidates will possess: Near completion or completion of a PhD in Accounting from a business school with AACSB accreditation; · A strong research record in Accounting with publications or clear potential for publication in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals in Accounting or a closely related discipline; Must show research potential to establish a successful research program in accounting that can attract external research funding, including Tri-Agency and other significant government and industry-partnered funding; Must demonstrate expertise in research methodologies relevant to the Accounting discipline; CPA designation is not required, however, is preferred; Demonstrated teaching excellence in Accounting; Demonstrated communication skills, and ability to convey ideas clearly; Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and a track record of contributing positively to a work environment; Demonstrated commitment to professional, undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral education; Demonstrated commitment and ability to actively participate in collegial internal and external service, events and initiatives. A commitment to the principles of Equity Diversity, and Inclusion; Duties include: developing and maintaining an active, high-impact research program in Accounting aimed at making a significant contribution to the profession with publications in leading Accounting journals or a closely related discipline; teaching in our undergraduate and graduate programs, supervising Ph.D. students in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies program; as well as contributing to other teaching and administrative initiatives of the Faculty of Management. Teaching and service requirements are similar to other research-intensive universities. Candidates are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
