Normal duties may include the preparation and delivery of course content in a design studio setting; the development and administration of assignments; providing students with regular feedback on their work in the studio setting; the marking and grading of student work and the submission of grades to appropriate University officials in accordance with policy; the maintenance of reasonable hours of student contact outside of scheduled contact hours; and the supervision of the day-to-day work of any Teaching Assistants assigned to the course. There is no expectation of or requirement for research or administrative service. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture (or related design discipline) and relevant professional experience in design. Preferred Qualifications: We are seeking applicants with a professional degree in architecture (Master’s or Bachelor’s) and a record of teaching architectural design at the undergraduate or graduate-level. Interest in collaborative modes of design pedagogy is important. Demonstrated experience in architectural practice is an asset, and evidence of collaborative work on projects with engineering professionals is highly desirable. Demonstrated design excellence is desired and will be evaluated through consideration of professional experience, design awards (if applicable), and a 1-2 page portfolio. Duties: Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.
