SETUP: Mostly remote, but must reside in Ontario, as occasional office visits may be required. CONTRACT: 6 months, chance to extend START DATE: ASAP About the Opportunity Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation. Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reports. Analyze financial results and explain key variances and trends. Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and reconciliations. Reconciliations & Financial Analysis Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Support cash, investment, and transaction reporting activities. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Audit, Compliance & Regulatory Reporting Support internal and external audits by preparing working papers and responding to inquiries. Assist in the preparation of audited financial statements and disclosures. Support regulatory, tax, and compliance reporting requirements. Maintain well-organized and audit-ready documentation. Reporting & Business Support Respond to finance and business stakeholder inquiries. Provide insights to support business decision-making. About You Accounting designation; (candidates in the final stages of enrollment will also be considered). 5+ years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, and/or audit experience. Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP. Experience in the Insurance or Financial Services sector Experience supporting external audits and regulatory reporting. Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets. JOB ID: 304949
