Regular Full-Time Position (1.0 FTE) THIS POSITION HAS A YEARLY SALARY RANGE OF $129,315.00 - $161,643.00 (Management/Excluded Group -1) As a member of the leadership team, the Manager provides organizational leadership for Yukon Hospitals’ relationships with Yukon First Nations governments, Indigenous organizations, and key health system partners. The position is responsible for establishing and implementing corporate frameworks, standards, policies, and practices that support culturally safe care, meaningful engagement, and collaborative partnerships across Yukon Hospitals. The Manager exercises independent judgement and decision-making authority within established organizational priorities and provides strategic advice to executive leadership regarding partnership development, Indigenous engagement, cultural safety, organizational change, and associated risks. The position is accountable for ensuring that engagement and cultural safety initiatives are aligned with organizational objectives and legislative, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. The Manager is responsible for the leadership and supervision of assigned staff, contractors, consultants, and project resources and is accountable for budget planning, resource allocation, operational oversight, and achievement of portfolio objectives. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required * Knowledge of Indigenous governance, reconciliation, cultural safety, cultural humility, and partnership-based approaches to service planning and delivery. * Knowledge of Yukon First Nations governance structures, modern treaties, land claims, and the broader health and social service environment in Yukon, or the ability to acquire this knowledge quickly. * Knowledge of engagement, consultation, relationship management, and collaborative decision-making processes. * Knowledge of organizational planning, policy development, quality improvement, and change management principles. * Knowledge of healthcare systems, public sector governance, and Indigenous health priorities is considered an asset. * Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with Indigenous governments, community partners, health system partners, and other stakeholders. * Ability to provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior leaders and support organizational decision-making. * Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead teams, coordinate complex initiatives, manage competing priorities, and achieve results. * Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. * Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, identify risks and opportunities, and develop practical solutions. * High level of judgement, diplomacy, political acuity, and cultural awareness. * Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefing materials, policies, and presentations for diverse audiences. The successful candidate is required to have a degree in Indigenous Studies, Public Administration, Health Administration, Social Sciences, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field, and typically 5–7 years of progressive experience in Indigenous relations, engagement, healthcare, public administration, community development, or a related field. Experience working collaboratively with Yukon First Nations, Indigenous governments, Indigenous organizations, or Indigenous communities, as well as experience leading projects, initiatives, programs, teams, or cross-functional work involving multiple stakeholders, is required. Experience providing advice and support to leaders, committees, or governance bodies is considered an asset. A Master’s degree and/or training or certification in Indigenous relations, cultural safety, mediation, negotiation, conflict resolution, project management, communications, or leadership is considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education, training, lived experience, and relevant work experience may be considered. Closing Date: Open Until Filled

Requirements

Candidates must have a degree in a relevant field such as Indigenous Studies, Public Administration, or Health Administration, along with 5–7 years of progressive experience. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with Indigenous communities and leading complex initiatives is required.
